ADMISSIONS INFORMATION
Central European University (CEU) is a graduate, English-language, research-intensive university located in Budapest, Hungary. While concentrating on the social sciences and humanities, CEU also offers graduate programs in Business, Economics, Law, Environmental Sciences and Mathematics. With students coming from 100 countries, CEU is proud of its international community with no predominant national majority. The university offers small, seminar-style courses with a student/ faculty ratio 7:1, and individual consultations with professors.
CEU welcomes applications from individuals who accept its mission and the curriculum tuned to that mission. CEU admits students, based on academic merit. As an independent institution of higher education, CEU follows the admissions policy adopted by its Senate. Admissions criteria are set in accordance with internationally recognized standards and tests. Admission to Central European University is based upon an overall evaluation of the candidate, including academic achievement, strength of recommendations, English language proficiency and general compatibility with the aims of the relevant department.
Candidates may apply to two departments simultaneously and to any number of degree programs or streams within the selected departments.

Late Applications
Applications postmarked and received after the deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Late applicants must demonstrate outstanding potential to be considered for admission.
HOW TO APPLY
To view the application form and to become familiar with the on-line application process, candidates should visit the CEU website. Upon registration, candidates will receive an automatically generated On-line Application Password which will enable them to log into the system. The on-line application form may be saved and candidates may return to continue their work on it as often as needed. When completed, the form should be submitted and a printed version may be enclosed with the additional documents which applicants are required to send by mail.
CEU does not accept applications by email or fax.

CEU FINANCIAL AID OPPORTUNITIES
CEU Financial Aid Eligibility
More than 80% of our students receive financial aid and scholarships. Students on Master’s programs are eligible to apply for an extensive range of financial packages. The CEU Doctoral Fellowship supports doctoral studies for up to 3 years (covering tuition and medical insurance, and providing a monthly stipend of approx. 700 Euro).
