ADMISSIONS INFORMATION
Central European University (CEU) is a graduate, English-language, research-intensive university located in Budapest, Hungary. While concentrating on the social sciences and humanities, CEU also offers graduate programs in Business, Economics, Law, Environmental Sciences and Mathematics. With students coming from 100 countries, CEU is proud of its international community with no predominant national majority. The university offers small, seminar-style courses with a student/ faculty ratio 7:1, and individual consultations with professors.
CEU welcomes applications from individuals who accept its mission and the curriculum tuned to that mission. CEU admits students, based on academic merit. As an independent institution of higher education, CEU follows the admissions policy adopted by its Senate. Admissions criteria are set in accordance with internationally recognized standards and tests. Admission to Central European University is based upon an overall evaluation of the candidate, including academic achievement, strength of recommendations, English language proficiency and general compatibility with the aims of the relevant department.
