Guest lectures
The Department of Finance is doing everything possible to ensure that students of "Finance, banking and insurance" program have full access to knowledge and highest level education. Therefore, department supports continuous cooperation with foreign leading universities. In particular, in May, a series of guest lectures and webinars was held by the department. On May 22, the webinar of Robert Faffa, professor of the University of Queensland (Australia), took place.Professor Faff has considerable experience in the field of research and publications in leading scientific journals. In his webinar he told graduate students about the current approaches to the investigation of complex financial and economic systems, features of work with a large data arrays, and provided recommendations for the presentation of research results. A good tradition for NaUKMA is to hold guest lectures from professors of the University Paris-Est Creteil (France), partner university of the Department of Finance. In scopes of this cooperation, on May 15, Boris Najman made a lecture on informal employment in Ukraine.
April 26, a guest lecture by Robert Bassilly – well known Australian businessman, investor, philanthropist, founder and member of the board of «Ramsis Capital LCC» was held. Robert is a frequent speaker and expert in investments, development of business in crisis, under new challenges and dynamic changes.
In scopes of the course "International Taxation" a lecture was made by the representatives of "PwC" for students of the Finance Department. Olena Romanska and Angelika Rubliuk made a presentation "Practical aspects of international tax planning involving Ukrainian businesses". Then Anastasia Miller and Sergiy Pavlik continued with lecture "Transfer Pricing" and solved with the students practical cases. This guest lecture from «PwC» make students acquainted with the theory of taxation of multinational companies.
