Department of Finance cooperates with school students
{gallery}/2015_pupil_work{/gallery} Education is a continuous process which starts from the birth and last for the whole life. The efficiency of this process depends on its complexity and the interrelations between separate links. The Department of Finance in NaUKMA builds a program for bachelor, master, and doctoral students based on these principles. Moreover, it is also involved in cooperation with high school students. The Spring Financial School has already become a traditional event at the department. Now the partnership between NaUKMA and schools develops in the field of science.
The 10-th grade student of the Irpin Specialized school #2 Kateryna Hanina, with the technical and scientific support of the Department, prepares research on the topic “Application of the imitational models for the learning of economics on the example of the pension system”. In scopes of the research Kateryna has learned the basics of system dynamics and built the illustrational model of the pension fund in Ukraine. December 3, 2015 held an open lesson for the high school students which included the demonstration of the designed model and prediction of the changes in the pension system. Students were able to test different reform scenarios and see the results of their propositions. After the presentation, students had a discussion about actual condition of the pension and budget systems in Ukraine.
Therefore, cooperation between the Department of finance and schools is perspective, first of all, due to the advantages for the pupils. They get possibility to perform investigations, gain knowledge about modern trends in higher education, science, and economy in general. Hence, cooperation in this direction will deepen. The Department of finance expresses gratitude to the Irpin Specialized school #2 for the high quality of knowledge among students, and wishes Kateryna Hanina to have a successful defense of the research.
