The working meeting between representatives of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and University of Bergen (UiB) (the dean of the faculty of sociology Knut Helland, professor David Wheat and adviser of UiB Eva Svensson, who is in charge of international relations) was held on May 15-16.Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA) was represented by the president of NaUKMA Andriy Meleshevych, the head of Academic Council, the head of Journalist’s Department Serhiy Kvit, Vice-President of Scientific Investigations and Information Tetiana Yaroshenko, the Head of the Finance Department Iryna Lukyanenko, and the Vice-President for Foreign Cooperation Larysa Chovnyuk.
The meeting was dedicated to the discussion of the results of the International project «Extended Learning of Economics with Dynamic Modeling» and defining the vectors of further cooperation and possibilities of getting double-diplomas at the Masters and PhD levels. This project assumes multidirectional partnership and integration of students, postgraduate students, professors towards educational cooperation with UiB.
The project has been highly estimated by Norwegian partners. Thus, in 2014 the Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg visited NaUKMA. She emphasized the importance of the cooperation and its results. An official meeting at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kyiv was held on May 15, during which the Ambassador of Norway to Ukraine Ole Terje Horpestad also emphasized the importance and the effectiveness of this project.
